TheĀ Spark Journal

The Spark Journal is a monthly reflection on creativity, growth, and the process of becoming. Posted on the second Wednesday of every month, each entry shares stories and lessons from the journey of building and pursuing ideas with intention. Through gratitude, honest reflection, and thoughtful storytelling, The Spark Journal explores the quiet work that happens behind the scenes of personal growth, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

Becoming the Person Your Dream Requires

Mar 11, 2026

Starting a business sounds exciting when you say it out loud.

You picture the freedom. The creativity. The ability to wake up every day building something that actually means something to you.

What people don’t always talk about is the quiet transformation that happens behind the scenes.

Because the truth is—starting a business isn’t just about building something.
It’s about becoming someone.

Over the past year, I’ve been building Project Spark and shaping the coaching work that’s grown from it. What I didn’t expect was how much the process would ask of me internally.

Patience I didn’t know I needed.
Structure I didn’t know I lacked.
Belief that had to get stronger every single day.

When you decide to build something from nothing, there’s no blueprint. No guaranteed path. No boss telling you what to do next.

There’s just you, your ideas, and the responsibility to show up anyway.

And that’s where the real work begins.

I’ve realized that every step forward in the business has required a step forward in myself. Every challenge has asked me to become a slightly more grounded, disciplined, and courageous version of who I was the week before.

Not perfectly.

Just a little bit more.

At first, I resisted that process. I wanted things to move faster. I wanted the clarity immediately. I wanted the results before the growth.

But somewhere along the way, something shifted.

I started to feel grateful for the process itself.

Grateful for the uncomfortable moments that forced me to slow down.
Grateful for the uncertainty that pushed me to trust myself more.
Grateful for the small wins that reminded me I was actually building something real.

Gratitude, I’ve learned, isn’t just about appreciating the good moments.

It’s about recognizing that the difficult moments are often shaping the exact version of you that your dream needs in order to exist.

And maybe that’s the real work of entrepreneurship.

Not just launching ideas, but allowing the journey to reshape you into someone capable of holding the life you’re trying to build.

This blog will live here as a monthly reflection.
A place for stories, lessons, and moments of gratitude from the process of building, learning, and becoming.

No perfect answers.

Just honest observations from the path.

If you’re building something of your own—whether it’s a business, a creative pursuit, or a new chapter of life—I hope these reflections remind you that growth rarely looks clean while you’re inside it.

But it’s almost always doing something important.

And that alone is worth being grateful for.
